It was rare for Japan to beat China in the 90s. It happened once in 1994 at the World Championships where Japan prevailed 3-2 and then this match. From 2000 onwards, Japan managed to overcome China several times (WGP 2001 (3-1), Asian Championship 2007 (3-0), Montreux Volleymasters 2001 (3-2) and 2011 semifinals (3-0), London Olympics 2012 (3-2). I think Yoshie Takeshita’s setting had a significant impact.

余談ですけど、王麗娜と佐々木みき、頼亜文と板橋恵ってよく似てますよねww
中国の4番(セッター)と11番(孫月)が美人。たしかこの時の孫月はピークを過ぎていた事もあってメチャクチャ不調。だから日本は勝てた。
個人的には鈴木洋美はもうちょっと全日本で見たかった選手。柳本ＪＡＰＡＮ時代も怪我するまではスタメンだったみたいだし、大友と鈴木というミドルの対角を見たかった。
