I watched this opener last year and now watching it again I realised how entertaining this game was and the referee was really enjoying himself! That was definitely worth watching again and very enjoyable !!!

I can’t believe the World Cup was almost a year ago!
It was amazing how the commentators kept saying “the Russians are exhausted” starting soon after the kick off. Yet their line speed didn’t diminish. In any event the Brave Blossoms are a grade higher and I find them a joy to watch. I love the Russian National Anthem.

Can’t imagine a better ref for this game than Owens. He made allowances for the inexperience and nerves of both teams and let just enough go to keep the game flowing whilst making sure both teams knew they were playing in the big league. His explanations on every decision made sure everyone on the field knew what was going on.
