The level of football in Japan has undoubtedly improved over the last few years. I think no one expected that Japan would win against Germany and Spain, but they’ve actually made it. What a remarkable team. Hope they will beat Croatia in next game.

Mitoma and Tanaka knew eachother since elementary school and were in the same football club whilst then as well. So it was really special to see them work together to score the second goal in this match!

Tanaka who scored the goal and Mitoma who gave assist to him have been best friend since 6. They went to the same elementary and junior high school and shared the same dream; to make it to the World Cup. If you like VAR rule or not, this was a truly special moment for the two and Japan has brought a great excitement to this Would Cup for sure!
I have a hard time understanding people who criticize or mock Japan for playing defensive football. Spain and Germany are the best teams in the world. I think we should rather praise the strategy of the Japanese coach, who managed to withstand the offensive of such strong teams and win with an efficient counter attack. In football, the strong team doesn’t always win or the weak team always loses. This is why I love football. Congratulations on your victory, Japan. from South Korea.
