Croatia was incredible that year
Croatia had an amazing run and deserved all they got, but let’s be honest: this was a perfect example of a World Cup where the best team ended up champions. France may not have been the most exciting to watch, but world champions rarely are. Les Bleus were the most clinical, the most defensively secure and the most talented squad at the tournament. A wonderful victory for a wonderful generation of footballers.

What an abserloutly incredible wc final this was, it had everything. Own goal, penalty, goalkeeper error and two wonderful goals, amazing stuff, perhaps the best final since 1982. Congrats to France for winning their second world cup, but also huge congrats to Croatia for being incredible right from the start of the world cup and for the way they played and fought like the talented warriors they are in the final. Congrats and respect from England.
Both France and Croatia changed history when they faced each other in the 1998 World Cup. 20 years later, They once again they faced each other in 2018 for the title.
