2014 has many contenders tbh, but imo James Rodriguez was the best that World Cup. He was the most watched and he scored the best goal in the entire tournament. Despite getting knocked out so early he put on the best show and made 2014 WC more enjoyable for everyone

Looking back on 2018, Modric was absolutely superb. He put up one of the best individual performances in a tournament I have ever seen.
