The directing is an unmitigated disaster. Having a monkey call the shots would probably make for a more watchable stream. Unbelievably frustrating!
I am so glad, that we didn’t see the tops of some climbers. I enjoy the brushing way more, too! ….
I liked the commentary. Very detailed and informative from people who know what they’re talking about. Also supportive and friendly.

Almost never see what the crowd is cheering about. GREAT CAMERA WORK!
I feel like they told the camera operators to follow whoever is in front of them and then they have a blind man in the media truck randomly switching camera angles. They do a terrible job at covering all the climbers on the wall currently. I’d be happier with a 4 way split screen OR zoomed out.
I kinda like to watch whats going on.
Whoever was in charge of the cameras should be fired.

I just wish the cameramen would just quit tryna get close ups and just show us the whole damned climber like at 2:21:00. We don’t need to see their shoes, we wanna see what they’re doing! Even if they wanted to show the small hold, there’s plenty opportunity to do that when the climber isn’t on the wall…
Out of the 2h or so of the competition approx 1h consists of close-up footage of the upper section of Men’s Boulder No 1.
At 26:20 I thought for a second that she pulled him off the wall!
The choice of shots was so good in the previous cup. It’s so bad again this time. We missed so many interesting attempts and tops. For example, I felt like Alex Megos was not doing so well because the only attempt we saw from him was on M4.
On another note:
Two world cups in a row? awesome. It’s great to see Fanny Gibert again. Akiyo Noguchi didnt do so well, what a bummer.
I was so shocked by the camera work. Do you really know how to film a bouldering competition? gosh..

For the love of god, after having to listen and watch that camera work I think I’d rather watch it through a 144p webcam from 3 miles away with the video muted.

nice to see that Mao is jumping to a hold somewhere offscreen @20:30. No idea what she’s attempting. maybe I’ll see with other climbers, but going off of the comments…. I dunno.. (SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE CLIMBING AT THAT POINT)

that should not result in disabling the chat for everyone.
Every community has ppl which does great work as a mod for free.
